Water Intake Tracking is an optional setting in the POC that enables clients to log their daily water intake. Providers can set a target water goal, and review logged water intake entries.

If a client does not see “Water” tracking within their account when logged into the POC mobile app, please ask them to check that they have updated the app to the latest version.

Enable water intake tracking for clients  #

Like other Journal Entries within the POC, Water Intake Tracking can be enabled on a global, group, and per client basis. You can enable / disable water intake tracking within your Journal Settings.

By default, the “Track Water Intake” setting is disabled for clients. Ensure the box is checked next to the setting, and update your settings to enable water intake tracking for your clients.

To enable water intake tracking for a specific client:

  • Navigate to your client’s account
  • Select “Actions” from the menu
  • Next to “Client Info” which shows by default, you’ll be able to click “Client Settings”

Providers have the option to set a target goal intake level (in ounces). Leave this field blank if you’d prefer to have NO target indicated.

Tie Water Intake Tracking with Care Plans #

As with all Journal Entries settings within POC, you can additionally tie water tracking into Care Plans that you have created, such that clients who are part of a Care Plan will automatically be prompted to track their water intake. Please follow instructions for care plans and  Adjust Journal Settings.

How a client logs water intake  #

Once enabled, clients will see the “Water” entry type within their account – when logged into the POC from the web browser. A subsequent release will enable water intake tracking from the POC mobile app.

Upon clicking the entry, clients are prompted to select the quantity of water consumed. Each time they log a water entry, the POC tabulates the total water intake for the day – and will indicate to the client when their daily goal has been met (if there is a target goal set by the provider).

Reviewing your client’s water entries  #

To review your client’s water entries, navigate to their Client Profile > Journaling > Use the “Water” filter

As a provider, when an entry is logged, you’ll see an indication of the date, the total water intake for the day, and can comment or react directly on the entry.
